The Ophion Katana belongs to the range of Ophion’s whitewater paddles. It is designed to be dynamic and powerful, while maintaining stability and precision. The Katana blade was designed from scratch up and has been made to be smooth with a traditional stroke. We are using the latest composite materials in a unique design.

Ergo Neutral Bent Shaft
 
This is a classical bent shaft where the hand position is aligned with the center line of the blade. This design offers increased comfort for the wrists, making it an ideal choice for straight-shaft paddlers who experience wrist fatigue.
This shaft is compatible with all of our whitewater paddle models and is suitable for both whitewater and freestyle paddling.
 
Ergo Power Torque Shaft
 
This shaft positions the hands behind the blade, allowing you to pull through the water behind the powerface. This results in a more stable, self-correcting stroke. Additionally, it enables an earlier catch for a longer overall stroke.
We recommend this shaft for whitewater paddling, specifically for the following models:
- Nirvana
- Katana
 
Please note that we do not recommend Ergo power torque shaft for freestyle kayaking. It is also not recommended for the Ninja and Ninja Edge models, as these designs already feature a forward-offset blade.
